A little about ourselves
Mitch Mortensen has a family history of placer exploration in the Cariboo Gold Fields. Yanks Peak (Snowshoe Mountain) has been his family's focus of mining since the early 1900’s.
He has over 30 years experience in mining exploration and staked his first claims in the Yanks Peak area in 2001. These claims became the Yanks Peak Project in 2012 when Snowshoe Mountain Resources was formed. Mitch Consulted for Sidney Resources Corp in 2012 and then became a Director and Vice President of Operations through 2013 The Mugaha project was also created by Mitch in 2012 and local to Mackenzie BC. In 2016 he worked with Physep Components and Services as mine manager for the Mugaha Project in Mackenzie. This project involved working with five interns from all over North America. He has been on a variety of projects stretching from Arizona to the Yukon. Mitch has a deep appreciation for the environment and works with realistic means to balance his ambitions in the industry with his responsibilities to future generations. His respect of historical gold rush and aboriginal archaeology reflects in his thorough research on a given project. Mitch has an extensive life experience in the wilderness. He was a member of the Mackenzie Search and Rescue and then joined the Canadian Rangers. He also has a significant back ground as a feller, on site safety and on site emergency services (medic) in the oil and gas industry. In 2019 Mitch and a few like minded individuals founded the Omineca Mining Association. Mitch is currently the Secretary Treasurer of this non profit organization. |
